Welcome Back, MR. McDONALD

I like to watch fantasy movie such as “Harry Potter” and the movies produced by studio Ghibli, basically because I feel refreshed by them. However, I would like to introduce a different kind of movie, “Welcome Back, MR. McDONALD,” which is a Japanese movie directed by Koki Mitani. The story is a comedy in which the performers bring up the selfish problems while acting on a live broadcast in a radio station and the studio drop into panic, then the script, which was a melodrama is changed to the action thing which is no expected. However, it suggests the responsibility for things you made, and the importance of making things by your hands behind the funny story. The one character, who is the producer, says, “If it is a terrible creation, I can not escape that.” Another character who was a sound director says, “ The ready-made sounds have no distinction. Sounds are things you made.” Also, we can enjoy how to make radio drama, especially the way to make sounds are portrayed quite closely. For example, the sound of the washout of a dam can be made from the sound of a flushing toilet. Did you know that? Like this, there are many surprising things in the movie. As a result, I am entertained no matter how many times I watch it.
